The majority against live broadcasts of council meetings on the Internet is crumbling. City councilors had rejected something like this for years. Too expensive, a lack of public interest and, above all, data protection were cited as reasons. But change is conceivable now. The social list had made a new attempt in the context of budget discussions. And it almost worked. In principle, the CDU was still strictly against it, as was the administration, and the FDP still had unanswered questions. All other factions were for it. In the end, the main and finance committee therefore voted in favor of referring the issue to the newly established digital committee. There should be further discussion.
