New trees are planted at the Eisenhütte weir

Bocholt (PID). From Monday, December 7th, 2020 to Friday, December 11th, 2020, trees and bushes will be planted at the ironworks weir. Benches are also set up. Six weeping willows and rows of bushes are planted along the cycle path to the weir. “A weeping willow grows quickly into a medium-sized tree. The broad, strong branches that hang down vertically to the ground make it look very picturesque, ”says Peter Schlabs from the Civil Engineering, Transport, Urban Green and Environment department. Two swamp oaks and two more tau willows are planted in the area of the weir. Three rustic oak benches are set up on the information board at the weir. "The rustic oak benches are intended to remind of the location of the former sawmill and, together with the newly planted trees, create a great backdrop," says Environment Deputy Director Daniel Zöhler.
