Immediate emergency program:
Social list for free bus rides and bike wash against receipt
The voters community Social List Bocholt calls for an immediate emergency program for Bocholt to revitalize the city center, the retail trade and to secure jobs and the existence of the restaurateurs. This includes free public transport on the city buses, free bicycle laundry against a receipt, purchase vouchers with a city grant as suggested by the advertising community (but with separate regulations for citizens with low incomes so that they can take part in the campaign) and separate financial measures to secure the Jobs and the existence of restaurateurs.
In a corresponding citizens' application to Mayor Peter Nebelo, the electorate suggests that the measures be carried out initially until October 31. The measures are to be re-evaluated in good time before October 31 and possibly extended. The free rides on the city buses, on the other hand, should continue - initially for one year.
Rainer Sauer, the chairman of the electorate, sees the 4-point program as a real opportunity to make Bocholt lively and attractive again and explains:
“The Corona crisis is weakening Bocholt considerably. In order for Bocholt to get back on its feet, especially the city center, special measures are required that must be initiated and implemented as quickly as possible. In particular, incentives have to be created to revitalize the city center and the retail sector and to get visitors to the city center. Advice and administration play a special role in this in order to work together with the necessary economic program for Bocholt
the Bocholt merchants, restaurateurs, business development, city marketing and employee representatives and to provide them with financial support. The federal and state governments must of course also make financial contributions. The Bocholt advertising association has already put forward a first idea. The special situation in the field of gastronomy must also be taken into account and special measures must be taken there so that it is preserved. "
