Competition “Active for Democracy and Tolerance” 2021Regio

The “Active for Democracy and Tolerance” competition is entering the next round: The “Alliance for Democracy and Tolerance - Against Extremism and Violence” (BfDT), founded by the Federal Government, is calling for this nationwide competition for the 21st time. District Administrator Dr. Kai Zwicker. The aim of the competition, sponsored by the Federal Agency for Civic Education, is to honor committed individuals or groups who bring the Basic Law to life in a creative way. We are looking for civil society projects that have already been carried out in the fields of democracy, tolerance, integration, violence prevention, extremism or anti-Semitism. Creativity knows no limits. The deadline for submitting the application documents is Sunday, June 27, 2021 (date of the postmark).
The aim of the competition is to make the voluntary civil society work visible on site. For example, imitators can be found, interested parties inspired or projects and initiatives networked. The winners can look forward to cash prizes of up to 5.000 euros. They are also invited to take part in a workshop offering that addresses the interests and needs of the award-winning projects.
This year we are looking for projects that
- Implement your commitment digitally: Master the challenges posed by the pandemic and take advantage of the opportunities
- Promote social cohesion and counteract social division
- take action against political extremism and develop counter-strategies
- Show attitude and are active against group-related misanthropy.
