Concrete involvement of citizens in the design of urban development measures, this is the goal of the third phase of the future city process in Bocholt. "After discussing the goals and ideas for this inner-city small park in early June, the planning designs developed by urban planning will now be presented," explains Sascha Terörde, head of Bocholt's future and strategy office. Concrete suggestions were included in these designs, but some could not be included. Terörde: "The resulting designs are presented and discussed with the participants, so that the final vote on the variants." For the city administration, this results in a basis that will be the basis for the urban development grant, which will be made in September should.
Background: future city Bocholt 2030 +
On behalf of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, funding has been made available in the competition "City of the Future 2030 +" in order to gain insights for the fundamental improvement of public participation procedures in the sense of a sustainable development of the cities. Bocholt is one of seven cities in Germany that receive such funding in this third phase of the competition.
